Ok so I know it was aired like last week but still heres my take on last saturdays show ...
I will keep these going, probably get them up around mid weekisshh.
Righty ... Show 2...
So last night we had -back flips, magic tricks and the occasional welly boot ... what will it be tonight!
Dadadada.....da! Hmm still not a fan of the new title sequence, got kind of attatched to the old one.
Tess is back in her standard uniform I see... asymetric floor length gown... obviously some things never change.
Oooh Bruce, messed up your gag there... "Never mind the 2 fathers I didnt know i had 4 fathers...." I think you mean wives... we'll let that one go shall we, give you a minute to warm up..
Ok time to go ... Interesting set of outfits going on. Natalie and Scott, pretty standard attire ... nice. Jared Murillo what do you look like!! Baaaad trousers my friend. Peter and Erin tres on theme with the football gear and Jimi's well he's wearing spangly pj's by the look of it. Ola, the usual... chiffon and sparkly dental floss, but working it enviously well. Patsy and Robin again ... pretty standard, Goldie and Kristina however... geniesque I beleive. Matt and Aliona, no longer rocking leaves and tartan (thank God) but a latin number, Matt in a shirt I swear I've seen on someone else. Bloody Hell... Kara and Artem ... he has the chest out, yummm. Vincent and Felicity, Pamela and James, both in red and black Pamela however seems to be wearing about 10 skirts. Lots of sparkles on Michelle... love the skirt. Anne looking surprisingly glam also, Anton grinning like the wonderful fool he is. Awwhh and Gavin, looking very smart a bit like a school boy in his first suit, but lovely all the same.
Now thats out the way ( not that you needed to know what they were wearing as by now Im sure you've all seen it )
So everyones safe... and already were straight in with a comment about Anne doing latin. OK we get it... we want to see her be "sexy" *shudders at thought* but enough already...
Ooohooh Jimi and Flaviaaaaaa.... ( may I add a quick lol at the 2012 joke!)
The smell of Strictly as told by Jimi - deep heat and hair spray. Oook... ITT pick up on that, I spy a VT.
andd apparently Flav has lucky hair. Awesome.
EW! the sweat... He must be working hard! or doesnt know what lynx is.
Ok Dance... Good song. Little loose in the limbs, arms need to be sharper I think. Good rhythm though, moves well, seems to know what he's doing. Little flat in the feet, just noticed, nice routine though well done Flavs.
Oh yea Welcome Dave etc... can't forget him.
Umm I'd say a 6 for Jimi. Judges turn though... Apparently its not 'adequate' agreed Len, Alesha wants sharper. Bruno noticed a mistake... I didnt, must rewatch it. Scarecrow from wizard of oz... apparently means you have a good isolation technique.... Okkkkaay. Totally agree Craig *ahem* totally.
Scores... 6SEVEN67 .. not bad not bad ... pretty average for week one.
Peter and Erin next....Make up jokee, clean sheets... someone in the crowd finding it VERY funny.
Erins song ... Im still standing * instant Darren Bennett flash back ......................................................sigh... sorry Im back*
Very pretty opening, typical of Erin. Hmm frame needs a little work, rise and fall is a little sticky, but he's doing it, just needs to be a bit smoother. Tiny mistake there but well recovered. He's doing better than I thought. Very sweet routine. I'd sayyyyy 5? maybe 6.
Alesha ... patronising much.. just comment!
Bruno's making sense for a change ... Craig however, not so much. Potholish... hmm. Len has decided that this however was adequate for week one.
Off to Tess land.... Paul Daniels stiking his toungue out absent mindedly in the backgroud. Ok sh he got 4665... Erin decided not bad. S'alright then.
Michelle and Brendan ... Sorry ... she annoys me SO much, and she would apparently sing for the Queen over tea and biscuits... odd.
Bad bad bad bad boy Brendannnn ... sporting a bit of love for him this year.
The don't seem to be dancing much in training.
Hahaha typical Brendan being the first to use the balcony... not sure what to expect of this dance to be honest. First impressions ... long limbed and awkward... I spy another Lisa Snowdon... *runs for hills* ... sorry... She needs to work on her technique quite bad at the moment... exciting routine to watch however, she just needs to put more work in. I'd say 5.
Bruno making leg comments ... urgh definate Lisa Snowdon link.
Craig basically being Craig. Honest. "Im going to let you off this week..." Realllly Brendan.. Cant wait for next week now, if she dances like that again there will be fireworks.
Len and Alesha .. pretty similar comments. Michelle gives reaction to criticism speech.
Off to "mama Tess" ...to get 567(?)6... Hahahaha whos now imagining Michelle with Gavins legs (just me?)
Speaking of Gavin... here we go...HAHAHAHAHA Chin joke!!! So he can be funny!
Stop taking Gav... your making yourself sound like a girly. AH MATT DAWSON AUSTIN HEALY ... uuhhh yummmmm.
"You have like no spec of emotion" Nice Katya... nice...
Gorgeous song!!! Hopefully the dance will match. Awwwwhhhh he's just so ... eee cute!! Dunno what it is. He's actually not bad! Good movement, seems nervous but thats ok, makes him more endearing. I actually love this. His frame needs a tweak however, but technically not bad at all. Im going for 7!
Judgess.... Craigyyyy wants more acting, but says brave. Len likes though and Alesha thinks diamond in the rough... hang on I swear thats Aladdin... moving on... Bruno... he wants to see latin, theres a surprise!
Tess - "I feel like a gooseberry..." realllllyyyyyyyyyyyy. 6877 awesome. Must add I love his accent.
Tina and Jared... overly cute couple ... not a massive fan to be honest.
Training ... she appears to have lost her shoes. Confident and energetic... we shall see...
Dance time ... still not feeling the outfits and yet more props!! urgh.... songs good though...
Not badly danced, routine not spectacular Jared ... bit too simple. She looks as if she could be good though, if given the right material. Made a fewww mistakes but most have tonight so she's allowed that one. Ermmm 6.
High School musical ref... and im sure Len just called Jared, Gerrard. Theyre not being to nice to her, or him really. Uneventful...
Nerves being blames, and Bruce shouts FIRST DANCE at her... hardly going to help!!
I wish people would stop saying cute... at least she enjoyed it. Tess a HSM fan??? Okkkk.
Scores 57(?)66 not baaddddd.
Oh god here we go... Anne and Anton..
LOL...Milliband joke... acutally was pretty clever.
Srictly is undignified?? Really? We watching the same thing!
Hahahaa their training is pretty funny... not amazing dancin but funny all the same.
Ok ... first impression, needs to sort her arms out, finish the lines. Definately needs to get her weight up, shes dancing very much into the floor at the moment, shoulders back, chest up extend the rib cage... will sort her frame and posture. The height difference is quite comical... yet some how seems to be working. Very flat footed and stompy, so not amazingly danced. But she did it... and got through it. Well done Anton for not making too much of a joke of it. Spoke too soon! "Youve absolutely no idea!" errrmmmm 4.
Alesha like it... seems a bit scared of Anne... Dont blame her.
Hahaa Ark Royal ... compliment?? Nice one Bruno.
Craig is seriously going for the metaphors ... Very local authority. Love him..
"You think thats bad you should see the salsa ..." I think everyones waiting for that.
Len referring to her as a holiday ... anticipation but doesnt live up. Well said Len ... WELL DONE ANTON.
Oh god, shes Bruces favourite... quelle surprise. And she gets a standing ovation...
Scoressss 2555 ... nay bad... not realllyyyyyyy considering.
OOH its about to get hot... ARTEM... yummmmm. Oh and Kara is here too.
Brue as a model ... eurghh.
Kara and her sister.... like identical.. weirrddd.
Aim for the series ... Learn Artems real name.. likely!?
OMG spotlight song in the background! Love it....!
Ok... so the song is AMAZING, Kara looks great and Artem has a hood! Good start in my book!
Oh no! fell over!! Recovered well though! If that had been me I'd have literally sat and cried... shes got good technique, dancing well, could do with a little more strength in the arms, make it a little crisper maybe. But still best of the night technique wise... 8 from me!
Judging time..Hahaa the old Bruno is back... Craig liked, Len liked... Alesha thinks they is hot!... constructive love..
Another standing ovation.Scores 7887 ... top score! Awesommee.
So everyones danced now.... HAHAHA "C'mon..." Brendan you legend.
Gary and Robbie time...NO PRO DANCE! Gutted... where is this amazing pro dance troupe we've been promised huh!?
So thats that.....
Now it gets serious....

Judging time ... oh and Welcome Dave Arch ...
Bruce now talking in morse code ... 'being rude' hmm.
"more tension in this room than my nan's knicker elastic..." I LOVE LEN.

Natalie wants to win. Obviously.
Oh Aussie ref with the Kylie..... subtle, and now marmite music?? He looks good though, despite his tantrums!!
Waltz time... Nat in black? Doesn't happen in waltz too often. Scott... stand up!! Shoulders down, ribcage up, make the frame! Bit toooo vertical for my liking!
Hmm... Im never sure of Natalies choreography... some bits are so beautiful, but others ... not so much. Danced quite well ... good for week 1. I'd sayyyyy SEVEN.
Rauchhhhhyyy Len ... agreed ... not so typical.
Alesah fought it was hot.
Sccchhhoooottttt .... oookkk Bruno.
Craig thinks he has puppet hands.... 6788 ... 8? wouldn't go that far.
Number 3 ... Goldie and Kristina.
Gold tooth gag ... He finds it funny at least.
He's an odd guy ... funny though
"From Russia with love ..." *small sob ... Lilia flashback* moving on ... HILARIOUS training video ... and amazzzzzzing song. Love the swagger he's got going on ... annddd I swear Kristina will be out of that top anyy minute now... best not get too excited love, don't want a wardrobe fail. Speaking of wardrobe ... the beeb been costume recycling? I swear Cutler wore that top for the Paso Doble danced with Christine?
Hmm ... good attempt, needs to sharpen up a lot! Very rhythmic though. 6 from me.
Aleasa said Babe AGAIN and Bruno does a crazy dance.... standard.
Craig wants more movemet and Len more content ... agreed.
Awhh "I'll get my coat..." No no ... not that bad. 3665 ... 3? Craigyyy harsh.
Patsy and Robinnnnn ... He has the most intense eyes. Recycled Men in white coats joke... used on Tom Chambers also.
Ohh we have a little sob story, using SCD to make her life better ... one every year.
"I bet that you look good on the dancefloor..." I'll say Mr Windsor.
Beautiful song ... and lovely choreography. Looking good so far... bit of gapping, shoulders need to come down to improve the frame, also need to finish her lines. I feel a little too critical of this .. it was lovely even still. Ermmmm ... 7 from me.
Bruno ... you summed it up for me love.
Dissaarrsssterrrrrrrrrr .... had to get it in somewhere Craig!
Listen to Len ... and spoken like an ex champion ... hmm... or spoken like she's taking notes from the other judges ... ahem .. sorry. 4666 ... bit of disagreement between me and El judges.
MATT BAKER!!!! Oh I love him ... best mention lovely Aliona.
Baaaadddd joke ... but they made me do it. Reaaally.
Younger viewer ... Blue peter babyy...
Hahaaa immitate sport ... plan.... Ali's wellies ... awesome.
Aliona ... grown on me ... shes very sweet ... even if Matt did just liken her to a farm animal... "IVE NOT FINISHED WITH YOU WOMAN ... BRING ME ANOTHER" oookkkkkk.
NO NO NO propsssssssss ... Whyyyyyyyy!!!??? This isnt DWTS!!! *small sulk*
Ohhh gymnastics ... seems to be a favourite of Alionas ... *Rav quickstep cartwheel flashback*
Obviously got landed with the wardrobe joke outfit for the night ... leaves in the hair Aliona?? Could have run a brush through it girl!! ( I joke ) Ohhh he's good... nice strong lines, good feet ... nice routine there too. Gimmicky ... but I liked it... I'd sayyyyy 8.
"You sir are one to watch..." "Best cha cha of the night" "Love the costumes" Lovely Hose?? What!? Oddddd.
This was the introduction .... no Aliiii nooo ... no more props.
7888 ... puts him top ... and broke the 30 barrier.
JAMES JORDAN.... Oh my...Love him more ... ohh and Pamela.
Odd song choice ... cant spell that ... Baboushka?
"Ive got to pull something out of the bag to bring the glitterball home.." loosely translates as "I need to win.... Ola has one so I want one" Oohhh bad boy James ... liking the sound of that!!
"is this in the aid of dancing??"
"I just wanted you to feel my bum..." Ok I wish I was her in that moment!!
Awww I love these two alreadyyyy.
Waltz time ... I still don't like that they start on the floor... even if its all dark and moody and what not! Also I sense some song recyclingggggggg? Lovely start... liking the out of hold sections, nice transition into frame also. She's actually reaallllyyy good! seems very elegant, shoulders need to be down though... still beautifully danced ... 8 from me!
For once I agree with Aleasha..... Judges comments all amazingg. 7888.
Hmmm havent noticed anyone in the background this time ... apart from smiley Anton.

Back with a Bang?
Glitterballs at the ready people ... Strictly is back! but as we have never seen it before.
Is this a good thing? Who knows.
And so it begins ... the first ever Strictly Come Dancing launch show!
Que dadadadadadadadadadadadaaaaa .... No?
No pairings as of yet, therefore no opening titles, instead we get a glimpse of the red carpet, and no I dont mean someone has dropped a camera on the floor in Tess's area... We see sequins, sparkles... bare chests ...yes, thats you James Jordan! (0.38 seconds in ladies) and all things we have come to know and love about Strictly, all be it in a different manor.
The shows been on two minutes and already Paul Daniels is annoying, ditto Anne Widdecombe... We dont know who they are with yet, but all I can say is God help the poor professionals that end up with those short straws.
Change number one ... New logo. Unvieled to the voice over of Mr Alan Dedicote... who still, whatever programme he does ALWAYS sounds like hes announcing the lottory. Ah well on with the show...
Kicking off with a Pro dance, always a good start! But may I add, seriously lacking in all things Bennelova/Cutler.
Very shiney new set, lots of lights, balconies etc.... looking tres ITV I may add. Camera man so far has got the idea that we want to see the dancers this year... *squeel of AAHHJAMESANDOLA* and breathe... am very much team Jordan this year. Interesting song choice, like how it flowed from opening shots straight into dance... clever. I think interestng can be used to describe the colour choice made by wardrobe when dressing the dancers. Brown? Not what I'd have gone for!
Now desparately trying to figure out who is with who... we have Natalie and Brendan now.. sobs, I miss Ian!... Aliona and Jared ( sorry... looks about 12 years old)... Kristina and Robin, who actually scares me a little, andddd.... Katya and Artem ... Mmmm.
Dance appears to have turned into musical chairs…
Little shot of Anotn and Erin, sorry, cant help but smile at Antons latin skills.
Well, so far so good. Pros still phenomenal, brilliant routine Mr Cutler. Find it a little odd how he choreographed that, yet has been pretty much sacked from the show. Still… amazing job, will miss seeing what he has to offer this year, especially on the jive front.
Ok...Brace yourselves people. Bruce and Tess are back. Que bad jokes and cheesy one liners!
(Spots Cutler in audience... squee)
NICE TO SEE YOU TO SEE YOU NICE…. Sorry… still love that. One thing that hasn’t yet changed about the show.
What do we think of the brand new set? Hmm… Personally, I like. Old one needed a revamp, buuuttt I still cant help but feel its looking a little Xfactor with all the lights, etc.
Ooh… bad joke number one.
Random … have just noticed Tess wearing a dress with TWO shoulders in. Makes a change from previous years I suppose.
Rightyo.... TIME TO MEET THE STARS OF OUR SHOWWWW nice to see catchphrase number 2 still in place.
So we have...
Scott Maslen ( no idea... never watch E/Enders)
Michelle Williams
Peter Shilton ( No idea... got evils from my Dad, for NOT knowing who he is!)
Patsy Kensit
Matt Baker ( yaaaaay!)
Tina O'Brian
Paul Daniels
Pamela Stephenson ( again who?)
Jimi Mistry
Kara Tointon
DJ Goldie (?)
Anne Widdecombe
Gavin Henson ( already looking so orange its unreal)
Felicity Kendal...
Haha ... I hope I dont get Anton... Poor guy.
Back by public demand Aleasha Dixon? Who'd they ask? (sorry... I miss Arlene)
BEST LINE UP EVER??? Reaaalllyyyyy? Specsavers Len. Wonderful place.
Alesha : Looking for a genuine talent .... blatent dig at last series.
Match making time...
Ok so ... Peter Shilton, football legend. No wonder I didnt know who he was.
Matt Baker... awwwhhh! I love him! Incredible abiltiy to be remarkably cheesy ... he'll fit in well.
Scott Maslen... still no idea. Resident bad boy, getoutofmypub*smack*... Okkkkkk.
Ladies now in neon, bit of chest on show from Scott...not bad not bad.
SCOTT... your partner is... ( every single woman in that line up, grinning from ear to ear, probably thinking please be me please be me) NATALIE LOWE ... the look on her face, happy then Nat? silly little dance over to him, hugs, kisses, lovely.
Right now im thinking, one of two ways... either Matt Di Angelo or Craig Kelly... hoping its not the latter!
MATT (aaawwwhhhhh he looks so scared)... Stepping out with (please be Ola please be Ola) ... girls looking a little less excited this time, Erin appears to be praying ...ALIONA VILANI.... Damn. She could look a little more encouraging! Definately a ballroom man I think ... please Vilani, give him something decent to do!
PETER ... Bruce rambles about football... zones out momentarily...In the safe hands of... (zones back in... notices girls looking less happy now) ERIN BOAG. Hmm another goalie called Peter. Original Beeb, original. Again ...im thinking Ballroom guy.
Aha ... new Tess's area.... or Tess's tower now... can see over the dance floor. Apparently she's loving it, a lot.
Ooooh 3 new males ... now we're talking.
My name is chigndivjvnvigvfnbamovirtcch. but you can call me ARTEM... good... im not going to try and say your real name. "New Strictly hunk" ... I'll say.
ROBIN ... "Looks can be deciving" Ooh... interigued.
JARED ... "New American Boy.." Honestly didnt like the last one, not sure about this one either. Aliona will eat him for breakfast.
New boy dance... Will it compare to the new girls dance last year?
Oh Paso Doble ... yaayy. Capes... double yay... even though Jared looks like he's having a tatrum.
Few timing issues have we boys? anyway .. loving Artem and Katya, much prefer her with him than Mr Cole.
Seriously .... good. Couldnt think of a better word eh?
Ok, Ladies pairings.
Tina O'Brian ... Actress... never watched Corrie, not too sure. Like her though.
Pamela Stephenson ... Dr/funny person. Married to Billy Connelly. Hmm.
Michelle Williams ... Annoying already. In a band. "You want me to talk about myselffff?" Well yes love!
MICHELLE ... ( men all very smiley...) how many Destinys child puns can you get into one line... que Tess Daly!.. *shakes head* ooh dear. Fears we have another Aleasha on our hands. Your destiny is in the hands of .... BRENDAN COLE... No silly dances.. just marches on over... still smiley. Carries her up the stairs ... Health and safety Mr Cole... watch it. Im thinking Latin.
PAMELA ... Laughing to the final with JAMES JORDAN (squeeeeee) Hopefully she will be good!!! Please be good!! "Awh come on, you look beautiful, doesnt she ladies and gentlemen..." Smooth James, smooth. Love himm... I dont know with this... maybe more Ballroom, ala Cherie Lungi
TINA... making your dancing streets ahead *ahem... another bad pun* JARED MURILLO. They look cute together. Quite small and high pitched also. "He was in high school musical.." Umm yaayy?
Latin, definately Latin.
Ok so six have paired off ... whats next whats next!!
Brendan and Michelle..."the cat that got the cream... be careful not to spill it Brendan.." oooerrr.
Training video!
Hahaha James walking behind Paul... nice facials there!
Vincent" Did you get that?"
Anne "Nope" good start, good start. I hope he's not with her!!

Third set of pairings!
Goldie... No idea, DJ? Interesting teeth.
Patsy Kensit ... Actress, Kissed Mel Gibson. Doesnt want to embarrass her kids.
Paul Daniels... Magician. Annoying man.
PAUL... dear lord. Who will be your assistant..please not Ola.. please not Ola .. (Ladies look apprehensive...) OLA JORDAN... *cries* no no no! Please be good!! Poor Ola. Typical, winner gets an oldie. Who knows, im going to say Ballroom.
PATSY ... the man rocking you world...( men look happy... especially Anton.. wouldnt get your hopes up love!) ROBIN WINDSOR. Odd little shimmy there... kisses, hugs. Nice. Could be a good couple. I think good at both actually.
GOLDIE ... Blue Peter joke... Wrong bloke Bruce. Anywayy.. going for gold with.... Only three girls left.. KRISTINA RHIANOFF. She deserves some good luck, given the past two series... I think Latin will be good for these two. They look happy together, well suited. Shot of Joe in the crowd... looking .. happy?
Back to the judges... Craig this time. Goldie warned to watch Kristinas footwork, as we all know what happened last year... eans him weird claw gesture from Joe.
Another pro dance... yayayay. Gets over excited! ( diminishes slightly after realising there wont be any D+L)
Lots of smoke, all moody and atmospheric, however James and Robin appear to be weightlifting with their respective partners.
WOW Vincent and Flavia are flying!!! Argentine tango in the air...amazingggg. This dance is actually... just wow. Brendan using the other guys as stairs, light up dresses, lightning. Much better than the opening dance. Its a Karen Hardy number too ... not usually a fan, but this I love.
Next lot up...
Gavin Henson .. Ex Mr Charlotte Church, Rugby player, shaves his legs... hmm.
Jimi Mistry ... Movie actor, apparently has rhythm.
Kara Tointon ... Soap star/Model .. Did sport relief Strictly and looked like a chicken??
Ok, KARA ...Artem, Anton and Vincent left... Sharing the drama with ...(Artem appears to have fallen asleep...) ARTEM CHIGVINCEV ... that woke him up. Vincent and Anton now likely fearing the worst...
Ooh highfives and knee slides... smooth moves.
Ok so Gavin and Jimi left.... Flavia and Katya also. Who with who!!!
JIMI... mystery partner (ooh budum...) is... FLAVIA CACACE. So, by process of ellimination ... GAVIN has KATYA... lucky her??
Jimi, im interested by... Gavin, not so much. Katya... work your magic!
Oh lord... Tess is insisiting on a gun show... ooh she makes me cringe.
Katya has to move Gavins arm ... ohh deaarrr. Awkward.
STRICTLY SHOW DANCERS... Jive/quickstep... with Darren and Ian involved its got to be good!
Ahh they obviously won the coin toss in wardrobe... much better!
OHMYGODDARRENBENNETT...... and new people... but still DARREN BENNETT!!
Ian and Aneta... little odd moment there?
Im liking the new dancers, not the idea... but the people, yess. Chem and Tanya work well, and Crystal suits Darren ... but I still dont really go for this whole, "Showdancers" concept.
*Goes back and wathces dance over... realising I watched Darren and only Darren through out*
Having re watched it ... I actually really really enjoyed it! The routine was excellent, really flowed. The singers/band were fab, and it was just great really. The only thing missing ... LILIA KOPYLOVA... sigh.
Okie dokiess.... Final pairings...
Anne Widdecome ... politician... generally annoying. Finds things a "Trifle farfetched"
Felicity Kendal ... acting aristocracy.
Anton, brace yourself... eurgh, and dont please, do not flash your chest. Ever.
FELICITY...Enjoying the good life with ... please Vincent, please. VINCENT!! Yaaaaayyyy!!
Which means ... "WE KNOW WHAT IT MEANS..." ANTON AND ANNE!!! ... Actually hilarious.Antons face!... Gotta love him, such a good sport. Out week one?
Very excited over Vincent and Felicity... new Cherie Lungi?
Random note ... Anton dyed his hair? Looks darker... just me?
The group dance.... here we go, first chance to see them all in action!
First thoughts ... oh dear dear dear Gavin... what are you doing!!
Generally not bad though... looks like it may be quite a close one this year!.
Basically ... Now Im excited!!

SCOTT... your partner is...

LATIN FEVER!
Ok so as mentioned I was a litttllllleee bit shall we say, excited, about going to see Latin Fever. Why wouldn't I be ... Darren and Lilia are my Idols. Excitement totally justified!
Obviously I've seen them dance before, on SCD, and on the live tour. But this was simply in a league of its own. As a unit, and as solo performers ( both of which demonstrated through out the show) they are simply mesmerising, their skill and talent captivated the audience and coupled with exciting rhythms, music and costume created one hell of a show!
We start of in the carnivals of Brazil. Samba time. Fast feet, and even faster beats. This truly is party time.
The stage is graced with 4 other couples as the show begins. You can sence the anticipation lacing the crowd, hundreds of eyes scanning the stage until finally, the moment everyone has been waiting for .... Darren and Lilia take to the floor.Their precence is captivating, I could honestly say that the rest of the dancers could have been on stage naked and I wouldn't have noticed! Thats not to say that the others were not worth watching of course!
From the Brazillian carnival, its cha cha cha. Arguably the most simple of the Latin Dances with regards to timing etc. This is supposed to be a fun cheeky dance, and that it was. Bum wiggling and flirty looks laced this perfomance, it was so lively and exciting to watch, all of the dancers, not just Darren and Lilia, created such a party atmosphere with those dances, im telling you it was tempting to get up and join in! ( I didnt of course, that would likely get me removed!)
So next we head to Buenos Aires, for the Argentine Tango. This dance has to be one of my personal favourites. The amount of passion and drama conveyed by this dance was truley stunning. The connection was so intense, and the storyline throughout allowed the audience to fully understand the style and mood of the dance. People sat in silence, totally mesmorised by what they were seeing.
Following this ... Swing time!!! This section of the show was so bright, so vibrant ... and that was just Darrens trousers! It really was massively exciting to watch, energy seemed to flow from every fibre of those on stage, everyone was so animated, it was just WOW! Mentioning Darrens 'subtle, understated' trousers! ... the costumes in the show were magnificent, there were beads and feathers, ruffles and frills. All designed by Lilia ( who herself had no less than 9 costume changes!!) The outfits really added to the dynamic of the show and we simply stunning to admire!
Throughout the show, the singers had their chance to take the stage for themselves and perform for the crowd, and I must say they were fantastic! They really got the crowd going, and aided in setting the mood for the dances to come. Perfoming a mixture of Latin inspired songs, such as Quizas, Quizaz, Quizas, Besame Mucho, and Livin La Vida Loca, the band and singers really created an atmosphere for the dancers to develop and maintain.
Now, within the show I had two ultimate favourite dances. Firstly the Paso Doble. I adore this dance, so was so so excited when I found out this dance was included in the show. Just like the Argintine Tango, the drama was intense. The cape work displayed by the men was so amazing ( and yes im now running out adjectives!!!) and Lilia's solo spot was just ... again WOW!
Secondly the rumba. I challenge anyone not to be moved by that dance. It was beautiful. So tenderly danced, wonderfully romantic . . . a true love story. This was another dance where the audience sat in silence, captivated by the beauty and mood of it all. Just gorgeous.
And and and ... there was audience participation! ahhhaaaa loved it! Everybody "Hey mambo ... mambo Italiano!" This really got the crowd going ( and made everyone a little bit excited, becasue D&L were talking!!) crazed clapping and singing along, just what you need! :)
Basically ... it was with out a doubt the most exciting thing I have ever seen. The talent was unbelievable, the music, the costumes and most importantly the dancing ... Fantastic.
( aanddd I as lucky enough to meet Darren and Lilia after the show ( whom were both so lovely) very very exciting indeed!)

One final Waltz.
Ten years is a long time to be doing the same thing. Thats how long I've been at my current dance class. Ten years. Today was medal presentation day, and to me ... the end of an era. As I am off to uni in September today marks my last presentation day for a good three years. It was emotional to say the least.
Things went smoothly, everyone danced, recieved their medals ... the usual. Just before the ballroom section of the presentation I was called to the floor. It was announced to all the friends/family of pupils that I would soon be leaving. So I stood there, with my teacher who said to me as he saw the look on my face "It hurts me just as much as it does you" , this left me laughing awkwardly ... trying so hard not to cry. I thought that was that. done.
However.
The presentation continued. The ballroom section danced. All exept one person who as overlooked when the waltz was danced. Me. I took it as a mistake, let it go. The awards were given out, I was last on the list. Just as I was about to get mine, my teacher took to the floor again, walked over to me hand outstreched. Declaring that I had to work for mine. This was followed by me being led to the floor. He turned to the crowd, me following ( at this point so nervous as I had no clue what was going on) and said " As you are leaving us soon ... I get this last dance....."
"One final waltz."
After that line, I just wanted to stand there and cry. It really hit me.
And it was my first complete solo. To the most beautiful song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXnZNMpcqqM
I was petrified. So afraid of messing up. But. I did it. The dance went so perfectly, and got an amazing ( and totally unexpected) response.
So its been a proud day for me. Massively emotional. Just re capping it makes me actually want to sob.

There may be trouble ahead???
According the the BBC website, the Strictly shake up has already begun, the latest announcement being that three new male dancers have been introduced for this years show. Alongide this follows the decision to reduce the number of competing couples from 16 to 14. This decision has lead to the elimination of one professional couple, and obviously three of our male proffesionals.
Listed in the line up as competing proffesionals for SCD 2010 -
Males -
All is not lost however, as being newly introduced for this series in the SCD Proffesional Dance group. In which places have been offered to the 5 'eliminated' professionals . The concept behind this is to showcase more of the proffesional dancers alongside competing dancers with regards to the style of dance being performed.
As much as I am against the removal of Darren and Lilia from the competing element of the show, I think it will be, in terms of the viewing audience, a good move for the show if they decide to stay on. By them being in this 'dance group' will give the viewer an oppourtunity to see a lot more of them, especially considering their previous run thoughout the series in the show. HOWEVER. I aswell as many other viewers, tune in to see their favourite professionals compete, and are being increasingly more put off the show with the recent announcements.
It has been announced that unhappy with the occuring changes, Brian Fortuna has already declined his position in the show, and I would not be surprised if the other dancers decided to follow suit.
So why these dancers? My guess is as good as anyones. They wanted 14 couples to compete, so that meant the removal of one pro couple. So lets look at this logically.
Ola - pretty much safe, she won last year - so back to defend her title. Thus securing a place for James.
Anton - comic value. They'd be low on gags if they deployed him, and would most likely spark an ageism row once more. Again - Erin, being the long standing female pro on the show, still in.
Brendan, has his bad boy rep, adds 'excitement' to the proceedings, Katya - tours with him, new girl. So safe.
Natalie and Aliona. New girls - quite popular, safe. Vincent and Flavia - Needed for Semi final week, dont want to risk them declining, as Argintine Tango can be done by none other. Kristina ... I dont know why. But she is safe.
Three men are out making way for the new boys. So that leaves Darren and Lilia. They've had pretty shocking partners, and early eliminations, so I guess the BBC are hoping that the viewing audience have forgotten about them! ... We have NOT. It has not been confirmed as to whether Darren and Lilia have accepted or declined the offer of dance group member, I hope they accept, but out of prinicple it is likely that Brian wont be the only one to walk.
So why Ian and Matthew? Matt - out week one. No longer seen as a competitor ... but FANTASTIC in pro dances. Obvious. Ian, had to withdraw from the competition, not an obvious choice to me, obviously all the female celebs will be short this year.
Very odd choices. 3 champions and 2 finalists. Yes. Good one BBC. These pros have obviously done something right to gain those positions. It is at the end of the day up to the viewer, and this particular one is not happy!
But what will be will be. Will this work? Im going with no. But we shall see.

As seen on Strictly.
Sticking with the theme of costumes, again courtesy of DSI ( my new favourite website ) I found Strictly gowns for sale!!

Heres just a few of the ones avaliable, a few pesonal favourites, and some genrally gorgeous dresses.
Ok.... I can honestly say I would give my right arm to own this one! ( ok maybe thats a little extreme but still!! )
This Latin piece was worn by Lilia Kopylova ( hence the whole right arm thing!) In I believe the "Ever fallen in love" Jive in series 7.
Sticking with the Lilia theme slightly, this dress was designed originally for her, however poor Richcard Dunwoody didnt quite make it far enough for her to wear it. So, with a few extra layers of fabric, creating more length and volume in the skirt, this dress was finally worn by Ali Bastian in her American Smooth. Im not really feeling the colour of this one, however the design sells it for me. I like how there are slight alterations in colour within the 'V' shapes forming the upper body of the dress. Breaks it up a little.
( I must also add, this dress looks suspiciuosly like the one worn by Laila Rouass in her Anerican smooth ... much prefer the colour of that one actually!)
Ok, so this has to be one of my personal favourites from the previous series of Strictly. Worn by Ola Jordan. Its massively simple in the actual design, with the asymetric shoulder and A - line skirt, which I think is what I love about it. The slight dropped waist allows for increased detailing on the bodice and as the skirt in itself is so simplistic, the pattern is able to be a little more irratic, without the risk of overpowering the dress overall.
The soft colours ( although I usually hate lilac) really work for this, in a stronger tone I feel the overall idea trying to be created by this dress would be lost.

I feel I have to mention this particular dress simply because of the 'up roar' shall we say, that it caused. Yes... Ola's rumba outfit. I actually really like this piece, it certainly a very clever piece of design, very typically rumba. Personally I prefer it in black and white when she and Chris made their debut, but still I have to admire her courage in wearing that!

DSI
Ok so things have been a little slow on the blogging front. However, I have just stumbled upon the 2009/2010 online catalogue for DSI. All I can say is WOW! ... Some of the photos are simply stunning, so much so I feel complied to share them with you all ....
I love how gorgeously dramatic and artistic these photos are, the way the dancers have been captured, the fact that they are not obvious dancing poses.
The outfits are given just enough emphasis to higlight the reason behind the images, yet the pictures to me appear so totally un catalougesque in style.
Beautiful.

Total Dance Disaster
Ok, so medal day is approaching ever more rapidly, and if that wasnt stressful enough I have gone and broken one of my latin shoes!
Disaster much! 2 weeks to go and at £90 a pair new ones are out of the question! So what to do!!?
Hoping and praying that shoe menders will fix them. The buckle pin has literally fallen out! Reparable apparently, but still a little traumatic!
And so ends my most pointless post of this whole blog! But hey, a little bit of random never hurt anyone!

Sweet simplicity.
Have been thinking about old times today. After spending the morning helping teach 5 year olds how to do the chachacha it got me thinking about how I used to do the very same dances, struggle with the same steps, and the sheer joy that came with learning the new dance.
Moving through the ranks, routines have gone from -tap-tap-cha-cha-cha- the basic time step and open out sequence, to featuring arm breakers, spirals and explosion lines. Gone are the days where you could do three steps and pass your medal. Its tough stuff sometimes.
As the dance exams loom once more, the stress levels rise, as one frantic teacher and pupils finalise sequences in all diciplines. This time round its 12 routines of my own, 3 1st time rosette dancers, and 3 2nd time rosette dancers, plus the toddler show number to compute. Making this years grand total of 19.

So many things change as you progress, shoes have gone from small square junior 1 inch heels, to 3.5 inch balance challengers!
No more are the ankle socks, and little frilly skirts, hello ladders in tights, hairspray and sparkly dresses ( although no where near the style of a competition gown)

Looking back, I do miss the simplicity, but honestly, what Im doing now, and what Im working toward, creates such a sense of achievement. The feeling of being able to teach others, the fact I now have 15 years dance experience, and a whole lot of memories to go with it makes me think that moving on up isnt so bad after all.
The challenges and complexity of what we're being taught now, is amazing. Getting through a routine is often hard enough, so perfoming it and passing it is well ... an achievement! Honestly, I wouldnt change it for the world.

On the road ...
The Strictly Come Dancing live tour has officially begun! Hands up whose excited!!
Ok, so having not seen the show (yet!!) I cant give a review, and wouldnt want to give spoilers so Im basically just venting a little excitement!
I have seen the Strictly Pro's twice before, with SCD live. But I feel this will be so much more. No celebrities, no judges. Just pure proffesional dancing. Its that I anticipate seeing so much. I long to dance proffesionally, I adore it and seeing those at the top of their game will truly be a dream come true for me. I am in such awe of these people what they do amazes me, the sheer talent that they possess is spellbinding.
Im so excited about this, its actually unreal.

Daylight Robbery..
Ok so not quite.
Buut ... Things are slow on the blogging front, so Ive been trawling through my youtube favourites and found what has to be my ultimate FAVOURITE ever SCD moment.
Im talking about the genius that was ... Richard Dunwoody and Lilia Kopylova's cha cha cha.
I absolutely 100% can say that it is my ultimate highlight.
The fact that he went so convincingly wrong, yet maintianed a superb showmans smile and the attitude of a true perfomer. You can tell from the routine that both celeb and professional are totally aware of his 'talent' so the dance has been crafted to suit that. I totally admire Lilia for the fact that she still dances like she would with Darren, when with a complete amature ( and lets be honest, shes had enough practice). I personally feel that the routine encapsulates what SCD is about, the fun, the dancing and the sheer hard work that was put into it.
Lilia's routine was simple, but effective. It featured basic steps and showy elements that played to her partners strengths. Well it would have if he had done the proper one!!
As for the dance off .... I spent £7 trying to keep Richard and Lilia in the show so was GUTTED when they got knocked out by Craig Kelly. Not only because I had used nearly a weeks phone credit.... but more importantly my favourite Proffesional had been voted out in week 2! ( to make it worse, Darren closely followed suit!)
Richard I felt gave more to it, you could see that by watching him, and Craigs 'dancing' in the following weeks ... well, in hindsight, was it the right choice!
Regardless ... I still loved it, and them!

Heading for trouble?
The future of our Strictly Proffesionals appear to be in jepordy, according to the News of the World. Desparate to win the ratings battle with the X factor ( which come on face it is looking ever more unlikely) the BBC are looking to shake up the current format of Strcitly, aiming for a fresher more appealing show. Their first move in said revamp is the rumoured axid so many of the current proffesional dancers. Those named to be in the danger zone at this point in time, include Anton Du Beke, Darren Bennett,Lilia Kopylova, Ian Waite, Natalie Lowe, Aliona Vilani, Katya Virshilas and Erin Boag. It is reported that ten new dancers are required for season eight, meaning that with the likelyhood that the number of couples is reduced on two of our current proffesionals will remian.
HOWEVER ... the article also says that, Brendan Cole, Matthew Cutler, Flavia Cacace, Vincent Simone, James Jordan and Ola Jordan are reportedly all safe. So how does that work. They want 12 couples, and are hiring ten new ones. So with the new crop, and those listed above, we are still left with 16. I sense a serious crossing of wires here. Mentioned in a previous post, I can only hope that the NOTW have also mistaken the request for 10 dancers, and taken it literally, rather than in the sense that they require those competant in as 10 dancers.
Personally, I dont see this as a strategy thats going to pull in more viewers... more likely it is going to result in a steeper decline in ratings as people will start switching off in the abscence of their favourites. I am not saying that the introduction of a few new faces will do any harm to the show, I just feel the BBC are targeting the wrong area. People have expressed how they feel areas such as the judging panel, who experienced the BBC backlash last year, are in need of a revamp, many people still being anti - Alesha Dixon.
Since the report was published many different groups of support have appeared on facebook and digital spy showing suport for our proffesional dancers. So it is clear that the public are opposed to said overhaul.
Based upon the source of the article, we can only hope that it is being stirred up in order to create publicity, and there is little to no truth in the matter. But sadly I doubt it.

My Strictly dance life
Ok, so inspired by the vt's from SCD ITT, in previous years, I have decided to track my own dance life. Seeing as Im moving away at the end of the summer, I felt now would be a good time as ever to note down what I have actually achieved.
Being an Ametur Medalist dancer, my story will obviously not be as impressive as those told on Strictly, but here it is all the same.
I first started dancing aged three, I was technically to young to attend the class, however, my Nan, having taken my Mum and Auntie to the same class, took me along regardless. It was nothing fancy, a group of older ladies teaching a group of children how to step and point for the majority of it. Every saturday me and a friend would drag our parents to sit and watch, cramped along the side of the church hall with other ' enthusiastic' audience memebers.
I remained in this class for six years, as when I turned nine years old, the main teacher retired, thus leading to the imminent closure of the dance school. Throughout the six years at Keynsham dance school, I learnt the basic, fundemental skills that would help me to develop through the examined stages of medallist dancing. I achieved tweleve rosettes, the first exam being taken in May 1995( 4 months after my 4th birthday). It seems odd to me now that the first dance exam I took was based upon the two dances that I now struggle the most with. - Samba and Foxtrot.
The other dances examined at rosette level followed within the next three years. Completing exams in Quickstep, Two step ( 1996), Rumba, Old time Tango, slow Waltz, quick Waltz and Cha cha cha ( 1997), The final three being Paso Doble, Tango and Rock 'n' Roll taken in 1998.
Following the rosettes, I took a series of one dance exams ... which lead to what I didnt know then, a period of time that would seal my love for Ballroom and Latin dance.
My attempts at dance have not always remained within the field of ballroom and latin however, once my teahcer retired, a street dance company took over and out of habit, the ballroom class began to inhabit the new school. Speaking entierly for my self here, it wasnt a good idea. My rhythm and coordination escaped me, and I felt awkward and out of place within the class. Yet I still stayed there for a year, and managed to
take and pass one exam in that short time. Looking back now .. thats nothing short of a miricle!
Thankfully ... a year later, a friend told me she was going to ballroom lessons again - taking me with her, and its that class that I have been with for approaching on 10 years.
Ive had varied success in this class, ive competed and taken exams.
Since joining Terrys dance school, I have taken 9 exams, the 10th approaching ever so rapidly. This works out at approximately 90 different sequences learnt so far.
Each time you are examined you get a report card, each dance you start with 100 points, and for each mistake you lose points. Looking over my reports my highest being 95/100 for Classical sequence and 85/100 for Balroom and Latin. My lowest scores have been 70/100 ( just a pass) again in Sequence ... which I will hold my hands up and say that I am pretty shocking at, the 95 points being a fluke!
Competitions havent always been my strong point either ... I usually get on the floor to dance and freak out. I did come first place in Paso Doble however, when I was about 14/15. But only because I was the only competitor. I still had to dance for it though!
Currently working towards my third stars in Ballroom and Latin, and second star in Classical Sequence ... it feels like I have been dancing forever. I suppose I have really.
Few more pictures to add - once I figure out how to get them on the pc !

Will they wont they?
Its only just April, yet the speculation has already begun as to who will return for Strictly season 8.
It has been released that the BBC are looking for new proffessional dancers, to quote " ten dancers" but thats not exactly clear. Do they mean in the literal sense, ten people, or those who compete in ten dance competitions, does it mean that the BBC will shortlist and only require one or two new comers, or is it the beginning of one of the most radical decisions yet? The dismissal of ten professional dancers, making way for a predominantly new cast ready for 2010?
Personally, I hope the latter is not the case! ... By axing ten professionals, whom of which by now will have most likely devloped their own fan base, my guess is will act against the show, leading people to switch off in the abscence of their favourite profesional dancers. It is common knowledge that many of the pro's have embarked on their own projects, thus making them no longer exclusive to SCD, so does this mean that they could be for the chop? On that basis ( purely hypothetical ) Anton, Erin, Brendan, Katya, Darren, Lilia ( sob!) Vincent, Flavia would be for it. Brian and Kristina being safe on these grounds for the work done on DOW, keeping it Beeb. If those were the grounds in which they were to be dismissed ( unfairly of course) we would see the loss of eight pros, many of them being favourites with the public.
I agree that the show does need a shake up, but is that really the way to go about it? I personally think its the panel, or the presenters that need a revamp. Many people have grown tired of Brucies "gags" and much like myself felt that having Claudia present the main show gave a freshness to the show that it now seems to be lacking.
However ... I really hope it doesnt head toward the DWTS style, loosing the dance element for a more showbiz, glitzy affair, which to be frank would make me switch off ... ( well not quite, but I would not be happy about it!!!)
On a lighter note :) ... the speculation towards the new contestants has also kicked into full swing on digital spy. People suggesting sporting names, actors, singers and the like, such examples including - Andrew Flintoff, Jamie Lomas, Linda Barker and Angelica Bell. But only time will tell.
Roll on August, when we find out the truth about whos in and whos out.

Un expected
Casting my mind back, I dont know what I thought Ricky Whittle would dance like, but I certainly wasnt expecting this ....

www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEkr1Kv6EQI&playnext_from=TL&videos=OKpT7dDuGIM
Not too sure about her on stage choreography, the whole under the arm/skirt thing doesnt do it for me ...But its a beautiful dance, and it still gives me goosebumps!
Apologies for poor qualiy picture ... print screen image.
